We are always in need of funds to maintain the PAD network in and around Porthcawl - for example replacements electrodes are currently between £70 and £140 (depending on the defibrillator model) and these need replacing when they are used or reach their expiry date, whilst batteries cost between £40 and £200 (again depending on the make and model of the defibrillator). We also have to fundraise for our training equipment and the defibrillators we carry whilst on call. Some of our equipment is expensive, defibrillators for example are in the region of £1000 to £1500 each, and we are constantly on the look out for new funding streams.
